Bob Hesskamp, (BA ’82), as a Senior Vice President of CNN, INC., Bob is responsible for CNN's Worldwide Broadcast Engineering and Turner Broadcasting's Media Technology teams. After graduating, Bob spent time free-lancing in St. Louis; then, in 1983, took an entry-level position in Video Journalism at CNN Headline News, and worked his way up to director within four years. Bob moved into management and when CNN started their affiliate news service, CNN Newsource he helped start the live shot service and become field production supervisor for Newsource. In 1994, Bob moved to CNN International as Director of Operations. Bob added Domestic Operations responsibility and was a member of the team that led CNN's move into Time Warner Center in New York. Bob was then asked to lead CNN's Engineering team in 2004. Bob has received the Broadcasting and Cable Magazine Technology Leadership award in 2008 and his teams have received the Technical Emmy, IBC Technology innovation awards and the Broadcast Engineering Excellence Award.
